Scale Model World Success!

Scale Model World(SMW)is probably the largest single event of its kind in the world, taking place every November at the International Centre Telford its 3 large halls of modelling Nirvana!!

Since starting the Aggressor & Adversary SIG earlier this year it had been my aim to have a presence at SMW 2018, the SIG membership grew steadily over the year and as SMW approached it was starting to look like we would have something to display!!

I'm happy to report that thanks to the support of our members we put on an awesome display of Aggressor & Adversary aircraft with a real range of subjects and scales represented on the table, the IPMS Committee obviously agreed as we actually bagged a Bronze for best SIG display at the show; not too shabby for the first outing ( keep your jokes about no points for second place to yourself!)

So after all the build up it was suddenly over! I came away with some nice additions to my stash and managed to bag myself a Hasegawa F-15DJ Aggressor in the kit swap among some other Aggressor related goodies. If you haven't ever visited SMW i would highly recommend that you come to the 2019 show, the mix of Manufacturers like HK Models and Wingnut Wings choosing to unveil new releases there and the huge range of club and SIG displays is worth the trip alone, add to that the large number of traders and it really is modellers Nirvana!

So with the 2018 show season over i'm aiming to attend plenty of shows in 2019, i have booked places at Halifax and the Cosford but the first on the calender is my own parent clubs show Bolton IPMS on 20TH January 2019, this is again at the Bolton Wanderers stadium which is a fantastic venue and one of the largest shows after SMW, the SIG will be there so come along and say hello.
